Feyenoord and Dirk Kuyt will soon have news about the trainer career of the latter. Kuyt said this at Ziggo Sport on Thursday evening.
It has been quiet around Kuyt in recent months. He would be prepared as the new head coach, but the question is how that is now. “I am currently in talks with Feyenoord. We hope to announce soon how I will continue my coaching career”, says Kuyt at Ziggo Sport.
It was the intention that Kuyt would become head coach in De Kuip. That appointment was made with former technical director Martin van Geel. Now Frank Arnesen is in charge in South Rotterdam. “Frank has been there for a while now. When I retired as a player, I had certain goals together with Martin. With myself and Feyenoord with me. It has remained that way”, says Kuyt.
“Sjaak Troost was interim technical director and later Frank. I had a lot of contact with all the directors. I have gained a lot of experience within the club over the past two to three years.”
