Kuwait’s National Handball Team Begins its Campaign in Asian Qualifiers for 2024 Paris Olympics

Our first national handball team will begin its campaign in the Asian qualifiers for the 2024 Paris Olympics, which began yesterday in the Qatari capital, Doha, and will continue until the 28th of this month, by facing the Iranian national team at 3:00 this afternoon, as part of the preliminary round matches of the second group, in which it will also meet today. Within the same group is Japan and Bahrain, and in the first group, Saudi Arabia is playing today with Korea, the UAE is playing with China, and India is playing with Qatar.
In the preliminary round of Group Two, the “Blue Hand” will face the Japanese team the day after tomorrow, Saturday, then its Bahraini team on the 22nd of this month, and the round will conclude by facing Kazakhstan on the 24th of the same month.
The delegation of our national handball team in the Paris 2024 qualifiers is headed by the Secretary of the Federation, Qayed Al-Adwani, and includes treasurer Khaled Ghuloum, member of the Board of Directors, Mubarak Al-Daihani, team director, Faisal Siwan, team administrator, Abdulaziz Al-Zaabi, and the team’s technical staff, led by Algerian coach Saeed Hegazy, his assistant, his compatriot, Mohamed Masoudan, and Tunisian goalkeeper coach, Ayman. The Tunisian sheikh and physiotherapist Mehdi Bakoush, in addition to 20 players, namely Muhammad Bouyabes, Hassan Safar, Fahd Salboukh, Saleh Al-Moussawi, Abdulaziz Salmeen, Fawaz Mubarak, Haider Dashti, Abdulaziz Al-Shammari, Abdulaziz Najm, Youssef Dayif, Muhammad Al-Sanea, Abdulrahman Al-Shammari, Mishal Abbas Taha, Muhammad Al-Hindal, Muhammad Fadel, Abdullah Al-Khamis, Ibrahim Al-Amir, Muhammad Al-Erian, Hussein Al-Kandari and Mahdi Al-Haddad.
Before the start of the official matches, “Blue” played one test match, which it lost to its brother Saudi Arabia, with a score of 21-28.
The director of the first handball team, Abdulaziz Al-Zaabi, previously stated that Al-Azraq’s first coach, the Algerian Saeed Hegazy, used new tactics and plans during the trial match between the Kuwaiti team and its Saudi brother, which comes within the framework of our team’s preparations to participate in the Asian qualifiers for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, adding The benefit of such a match with strong teams, the same as the Saudi national team, would be great, especially with the experience of more than one player to perform at their level.
It is known that “Blue Hand” recently competed in the Asian Games in China and won third place and a bronze medal after an absence of 17 years from the Asian podiums. He is also preparing to participate in the Asian Cup “2025 World Cup Qualifiers”, which will take place in the Kingdom of Bahrain during The period from 14 to 25 January.
