Kuwaiti Media Fajr Al-Saeed Banned from Entering Lebanon – Possible Hezbollah Link

Yesterday evening, the Public Security Service prevented the Kuwaiti media, Fajr Al-Saeed, from entering Lebanon, after she arrived at Beirut Airport to film an interview for a program.

It was reported that General Security did not inform Al-Saeed of the reason for preventing her from entering Lebanon, and kept her at Beirut airport until Thursday morning, after which she returned to her country, Kuwait, on a Middle East Airlines flight.

The Kuwaiti embassy in Beirut had been informally informed of the decision to prevent its citizen from entering Lebanon, which necessitated the Kuwaiti charge d’affaires heading to the airport at night at the head of a delegation from the embassy, and offering to accompany the media, Al-Saeed, to the Kuwaiti embassy until the matter was clarified, but the General Security Apparatus , whose acting director-general, Brigadier General Elias Al-Bisari, remained absent from the hearing, refused to do so.

Contacts were made with the Ministers of Information and the Interior to find out what happened, but to no avail. Noting that the two ministers followed the issue closely, and made an exceptional effort.

Sources linked Al-Saeed’s ban to the issuance of a restraining order against her earlier, against the backdrop of her anti-Hezbollah stances.
