Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – The Kuwaiti Islamic preacher, Tariq Al-Suwaidan, who is considered one of the faces of the Muslim Brotherhood in the Gulf, caused an uproar among activists on social media after a tweet and supplication about the Grand Mosque and Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Al-Suwaidan said in the circulating tweet before deleting it: “The Grand Mosque and the Al-Aqsa Mosque are two brothers brought together by revelation and brought together by the lights and blessings of Laylat al-Qadr.. We ask the Lord, Glory be to Him, that liberation brings them together soon, not far, and that He grants us prayer in them in the best condition.”
Al-Suwaidan explained in a series of tweets following the deletion of the circulating tweet, saying: “Peace be upon you.. For your information, the tweet that was deleted was not written by me, but written by the brothers in the management of the page, and it was a grave mistake, and I apologize to you for it.. Thanks to those who thought well, and may God Almighty forgive those who misthought and thanked The same applies to those who gave me some of his good deeds on this blessed night.
And he continued in a separate tweet: “The Grand Mosque and the Al-Aqsa Mosque are two brothers brought together by revelation and brought together by the lights and blessings of Laylat al-Qadr. We ask the Lord Almighty to grant us prayer in them in the best condition.”
He added: “I apologize to you for the tweet that was deleted and changed. The first tweet was written by the youth in managing the page, and I did not write it. This is not my methodology or morality, and I thank those who think well, and I also thank those who misbehaved, as he gave me some of his good deeds on this blessed night.”
