Renewal of work permits of 16,250 foreigners who entered work in Kuwait by showing fake certificates has been suspended. The irregularity was discovered when the validity of the qualification certificates of those working in the fields of construction, infrastructure development, engineering, finance, banking and accounting was checked.
These include workers who have mismatched status and qualification and who have been recruited in the name of fake companies. The authorities have not revealed which countries the fake certificates belong to.
