Kuwait Suspends Visas for Filipino Workers over Labor Agreement Concerns

Kuwait City | Kuwait temporarily suspends issuance of entry visas to Filipino workers in Kuwait. The action was taken on the recommendation of Sheikh Talal Al Khalid Al Sabah, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior.

The local daily reported that the action follows a failure by the Philippine authorities to comply with the terms of the labor agreement between the two countries. The Philippines had earlier stopped sending new workers to Kuwait in connection with the murder of a Filipino maid in Kuwait.

Negotiations were going on between the representatives of the two countries to resolve the crisis. Meanwhile, there is a new decision of Kuwait.
