Kuwait will enter the field of drug manufacturing. Local media reported quoting official sources that a pharmaceutical factory will be opened in Kuwait as part of solving the country’s drug shortage.
The Ministries of Health, Municipalities and Commerce are in talks to secure land for the project. The plan is to build a pharmaceutical factory as a shareholding company similar to the Kuwait Flour Mills Company. The aim of the project is to fulfill the local pharmaceutical needs. Along with that, it is possible to meet the requirements of the pharmaceutical industries and achieve the stability of the drugs.
The authorities hope that by producing medicines locally, they can ensure the availability of various life-saving medicines that are facing shortage in the country.
