Kuwait City: Political instability again in Kuwait. The cabinet led by Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Nawaf Al Ahmad Assabah has resigned. The resignation of the cabinet comes at a time when a motion for impeachment against the cabinet members, including the finance minister, is to be presented in the National Assembly.
The prime minister submitted his resignation letter to the emir on Monday, local media Al-Qabas reported. But there has been no official response in this regard. The decision will come into force once Amir accepts his resignation. Following the financial crisis, the MPs had earlier announced that they would present a motion for criminal trial in the National Assembly against Finance Minister Abdul Wahab Al Rashid and Cabinet Affairs Minister Barak Al Shitan. After this, the resignation of the cabinet was given.
The National Assembly elections were held on September 29 last. The cabinet was formed on October 5 but some ministers were reluctant to join the cabinet. After the subsequent consultations, the cabinet came to power on October 17, but four months later, the government resigned again. Differences of opinion between the parliament and the government have resulted in the resignation of many governments.
