Al-Marsad Newspaper – Agencies: Kuwaiti prosecutors said they had recovered $100 million worth of assets and money from Bahrain, in implementation of a court ruling issued against a citizen and his wife who were convicted in a serious case of corruption.

The prosecutor said in a tweet on Twitter that this step was taken in execution of the sentence handed down against the convicted, Fahd Mazyad Al-Rajaan, former director of the public social security institute and one of the most prominent defendants for corruption cases in Kuwait, and his wife, Mona Muhammad Al-Wazzon.

Fahd Al-Rajaan died in September at the age of 73 in London, where he had resided for years. Crimes of embezzlement, breach of trust, mismanagement and money laundering.

It is worth noting that in 2016, the Kuwaiti Criminal Court sentenced Al-Rajaan in absentia to 10 years’ imprisonment because he was outside Kuwait, where the sentence was forwarded to the International Police (Interpol).
London Police
In 2017, the London police arrested him at the request of a Kuwaiti, but his extradition to Kuwait did not take place.
In 2019, Kuwait announced that the Supreme Court in London issued a ruling imposing an $847 million seizure of Al-Rajaan’s assets and requiring him to disclose all of his assets worldwide.
