Dharmadam: Kutumbashree Buds won the crown of Wayanad district in the state arts festival. Wayanad won the art crown with 43 points. Thrissur won second position with 37 points and Ernakulam third position with 27 points.
The closing session was inaugurated and prizes were distributed to the winners by Speaker A.N. Done by Shamseer. Kannur District Panchayat Vice President Adv. Binoy Kurien presided. Kudumbashree Executive Director Jafar Malik was the chief guest. Corporation Mayor-in-Charge K. Shabeena, Chairperson of Zilla Panchayat Standing Committee U.P. Shobha, Thalassery Block Panchayat President C.P. Anita, Gram Panchayat Association District Secretary P.C. Gangadharan, Dharmadam Panchayat Vice President K. Sheeja, block panchayat members P. Seema, Baiju Nangarath, Kudumbashree District Mission Coordinator Dr. M. Surjit, Ancharakandi B.R.C. Student P.P. Adish and others participated.
Amaya Ashoka and V.J. Aju too Kalaratnam
Buds State Art Festival, Amaya Ashokan was awarded Kalaratna in the senior category and V.J. was awarded the Kalaratna in the junior category. Aju was also selected. Both are students of Wayanad Tirunelli Gram Panchayat Buds Paradise Special School. Amaya won the Kalaratnam by securing the first position in Lalithaganam and the second position in Nadanpaat. Ameya’s group won second place in group events Oppana and first place in group dance.
VJ won first place in chenda, folk dance and group dance and second place in Oppana. Aju Kala Ratna Awarded. Along with this, Aju also participated in keyboard reading. President Draupadi Murmu gave the picture drawn by Aju as a gift when he came to Kerala for the first time.
Alappuzha, Ernakulam, Kannur and Kollam districts won the award for the best stalls among the product display stalls built by Buds students.
