Crefeld. Since its inception in the 2020/21 season, Kütsons’ Happy Hour concert series has proved a great success. Intended primarily as an offer for all those who are just discovering the world of orchestral music on their own, but still have some trepidation before attending a full symphony concert, the various 60-minute concerts are as popular with this target group as they are with subscribers. to the long-term concert. While the “Happy Hour” with its three dates per season could previously only take place in Mönchengladbach for reasons of space, the Niederrheinische Sinfoniker have now also found a concert venue for Krefeld – and even unusual: Happy is being heard there. Hour alternately in the Audi Center and Volkswagen Center. In the exhibition hall some vehicles are set aside, and where usually new types of vehicles are admired, the orchestra sits, the audience sits at tables for two and three people freely distributed around the orchestra.
In addition to the car dealership Tölke & Fischer, the Glockenspitz vocational school could also be won as a cooperation partner. 16 students who are completing their chef training will take care of the culinary well-being of concert-goers and will thus be able to gain valuable practical experience.
GMD Mihkel Kütson not only directs the concerts, but also moderates the program. In each concert, the individual symphonists can also be heard as soloists.
