Kusi-Asare leaves AIK for Bayern

Jonah Kusi-Asare is listed for four matches, including 62 minutes of Allsvenskan play. Despite this, the 16-year-old has been hotly sought after during the January window.

A number of European clubs have been mentioned as possible destinations, but lately Bayern Munich have emerged as the most likely club address – and now the deal is completely done.

On Thursday, the clubs announced the news on their websites.

– It is with both joy and sadness that we note that Jonah is now leaving us. We would have liked to see him develop at AIK, but the situation at the club and the player’s willingness to explore this adventure led to Bayern Munich’s bid being accepted. It should also be said that the offer that was accepted is the highest ever for such a young player from the Allsvenskan, says the men’s team’s sporting director Thomas Berntsen.

Kusi-Asare himself thanks AIK for the year he has spent at the club, at the same time admitting that he has had time to form strong ties to the club.

– I’ve been at the club for a year, but it feels like I’ve been here all my life. There were only four appearances in the Allsvenskan and now I’m taking the next step to Bayern Munich. I wish AIK all the luck and success. Thank you for everything, says Jonah Kusi-Asare.

Bayern Munich writes on its website that Kusi-Asare has signed a “Long-term contract”. The club also announces that the Swede will initially belong to the club’s U19 team.

– Jonah Kusi Asare is a young striker with enormous potential. He had a number of offers but he chose FC Bayern because we managed to convince him that we want to develop him with us. He has all the tools: technically good, fast, tall, physically very robust despite his age and a very good finisher. We are very pleased that he will play for FC Bayern in the future, says Bayern sporting director Christoph Freund on the website.

On Bayern’s website, Kusi-Asare talks about the feelings after the move has now been completed.

– It’s a fantastic feeling. I am very happy to now belong to what I consider to be the greatest club in the world. It’s a special day for me. In the coming weeks I want to make myself at home in Munich as soon as possible. I am looking forward to the first training and want to constantly develop.

He also talks about the contact he had with Swede Matteo Perez Vinlöf, who belongs to the club’s second team and has gone through the academy. Yes, I exchanged ideas with Matteo Perez Vinlöf. He has lived here on campus for two years. He had only good things to say about FC Bayern and about their youth work. I look forward to meeting him here.

Previously, the transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano stated that the transfer fee is 6.5 million euros, equivalent to 73 million kroner, including bonuses.

Expressen, for its part, reports that AIK receives SEK 60 million, plus bonuses of another SEK 20-25 million.

AIK states that they will initially receive between SEK 20 and 40 million net, that is, after deducting agency fees and other costs. and depreciation. The sum may eventually rise to the next step in their own classification, which corresponds to between SEK 40 and 70 million.

Football sthlm have previously reported that Kusi-Asare’s former club, BP, is entitled to 30 percent of the transfer fee.
