THE RSPCA has DENIED West Ham’s claims that disgraced footballer Kurt Zouma will undergo an animal welfare course.

The charity also said it had “neither accepted nor been offered a donation” in the wake of The Sun’s circulation of footage of the center kicking her cat around her kitchen.

In a statement, a spokesperson confirmed that “no plans have been made to hold animal welfare courses.”

Zouma’s Premier League club West Ham were reported to be planning to donate two weeks of players’ wages to animal charities, with the 27-year-old taking a course on how to properly treat animals.

But heads of the animal charity, which in 2020 helped relocate more than 3,000 animals, today issued guidance to the media, warning they had not been informed of the possibility of any donations.

A spokesperson said: “Two cats are in our care, have been seen by a vet and are well cared for.

“They will remain in our care while the investigation continues and are not available for relocation, although we have many beautiful cats who are looking for new homes: www.rspca.org.uk/findapet.

“We understand the high level of interest in this incident and can assure you that our experienced officers are conducting a full and thorough investigation.

“Due to the fact that this is a live investigation, we are limited in what we can say, however we will provide updates when we can.”
