Kurt “Kurre” Hamrin is primarily known as a soccer player, but also played ice hockey for AIK and made a couple of international appearances for Tre Kronor.
Now the legend has passed away at the age of 89.
Kurt Hamrin is dead.
Hamrin is best known as one of Sweden’s best soccer players of all time, but he also played a few seasons in the top league in ice hockey for AIK in the first part of the 1950s. He also made two appearances in Tre Kronor in the 1953/54 season. Specifically in a double match against Canada at Stockholm Stadium. He then played in a chain together with Carl Lilja and Lars-Erik Söderberg. The matches ended 5-4 and 3-12.
Gradually, football took over and Kurt Hamrin moved to Italy, where he managed to become one of the league’s best players for nearly ten years.
Kurt Hamrin was 89 years old.
