The famous guitars are to be sold at an auction in Tennessee in the USA, which will take place from Thursday to Saturday this week.
And it is expected that the price will end up at NOK 20 million for each of the guitars, according to Reuters.
The one guitar is Eric Clapton’s “The fool”. This is a guitar in psychedelic colors, which was known for its unique sound.
– It was this guitar that he used when he wrote his most legendary songs, says Martin Nolan, the founder of Julien’s Auctions which is responsible for the sale of the famous guitars, to Reuters.

According to Wikipedia This guitar is considered one of the world’s most famous guitars.
Incidentally, it was The Beatles’ George Harrison who in his time gave this guitar to Clapton, after his was stolen.
– Still the same strings
The other big draw at the auction in Tennessee is Kurt Cobain’s ‘SkyStang I’ guitar, which he used at the very last concert he gave during Nirvana’s ‘In Utero’ tour.
This guitar is otherwise referred to as Cobain’s “workhorse”.. He used it almost all the time during the tour.
– The guitar still has the same strings as back then, even the tape that Cobain had pasted over the Fender name. Cobain hated advertising single brands, says Martin Nolan further.

Incidentally, it is one of Kurt Cobain’s other guitars, the 1959 Martin D-18E that holds the record as the most expensive guitar which has been sold at auction. The price finally ended at NOK 58 million at the auction in 2020.
It became famous when Nirvana’s frontman used it during the recording of “MTV Unplugged” a few months before his death in 1994.
It too was sold at Julien’s Auctions, which is selling Clapton’s and Cobain’s guitars this week.
