Libreville, March 31 (AGP) – The Sino-Gabonese Friendship Cup organized last Saturday to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of relations between the two countries, offered the public a very good show.
This cup organized by the Chinese Embassy in Gabon, in collaboration with the Gabonese Kung Fu Wushu Federation, was played at the military prytanée gymnasium in Libreville. Opportunity for the public, who made the trip to discover the facets and different techniques of this martial art, which is gaining more and more followers in Gabon.
The Mawua academy triumphed at the end of the competition with four gold medals in taolu and two gold medals in sanda.
« Thanks to the efforts of the Gabonese Wushu Kung Fu Federation, for many years, there have been more and more excellent Wushu trainers in Gabon, and the age of children learning Wushu is getting younger and younger. » noted the charge d’affaires of the Chinese embassy in Gabon, Zhu Xiaole.
« We hope that the Cup will give new impetus to the development of wushu and make a contribution to cultural and sporting exchanges between Gabon and China, within the framework of the strategic partnership of Sino-Gabonese comprehensive cooperation.” he added.
« We know that Kung-fu Wushu is a martial art that requires a lot of work, rigor, and concentration, so I can say congratulations to the champions, because they have surpassed themselves to give the best of them. I encourage all these champions to do more, so that Wushu goes further » wished the president of the Gabonese Kung-fu Wushu Federation, Soulejka Ndong Mbiame.
In addition to the discipline in the spotlight, the public was also treated to Chinese boxing demonstrations. The ceremony ended with the presentation of medals and trophies to the various winners of the competition.
