Kung Fu Panda 4 Dominates Box Office with $58.3 Million Opening Weekend, Beats ‘Dune: Part Two’

LOS ANGELES (AP) — As Universal Pictures geared up for a big night at the Academy Awards with “Oppenheimer,” the studio also celebrated the debut and No. 1 box office finish of “Kung Fu Panda 4,” which grossed $58. $3 million in North American theaters this weekend, according to Sunday estimates.

“Kung Fu Panda 4,” the first film in the DreamWorks Animation franchise since the third installment in 2016, got off to a better start than all but the 2008 original.
