Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba told about the results of the meeting with the American delegation headed by President Joe Biden. In particular, he touched upon the issue of sanctions against Russia. Briefly, four points can be distinguished.
1. The US recently introduced a new package of sanctions, but work is already underway on the next. At the meeting, the issue of closing American and European ports for Russian ships and cargo was raised.
2. It is necessary to impose sanctions not only against Russian oligarchs and Putin’s entourage, but also against all Russian politicians, because they are part of his aggressive machine.
3. The parties discussed how it is possible to “cheer up a little” some European countries that are trying, under various pretexts, not to accept new tough sanctions.
4. Ukraine and the United States very clearly agreed on how and with which countries to work, so that they do not help to circumvent sanctions. Since it is very important not only to impose sanctions, but also to cut off Russia’s ways to circumvent them.
“I can now say with confidence that Russia has fallen into a sanctions environment, one might say, into a sanctions cauldron. And this cauldron will only shrink in the coming days, weeks, months. And this will continue until we win the war , and until Russia pays for all its atrocities in Ukraine,” Dmitry Kuleba said.
