The head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry released photocopies of letters of correspondence with his German counterpart.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba and German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas exchanged letters on the occasion of the Day of Remembrance and Reconciliation. About this on Saturday, May 8, Kuleba reported on the social network Twitter.

“The case when diplomatic correspondence turns from routine into a particularly trusting communication between states. My colleague and friend Heiko Maas and I exchanged such letters on the occasion of May 8. Ukraine and Germany are united by memory, reconciliation and a common European future,” Kuleba wrote.

Also, the head of the Ukrainian diplomatic department released photocopies of the letters.

“Today Germany stands on the side of Ukraine and expresses its solidarity with it, stands in the international arena for sovereignty and territorial integrity and supports the course of its Euro-Atlantic reforms. I am convinced that the memory of the barbaric war unleashed by Germany, of the victims of this war in Ukraine , as well as the responsibility for peace and security in Europe, which follows from this, will remain a strong foundation of relations between our states, “Maas wrote in his letter.

He also expressed gratitude, including to the people of Ukraine, who suffered from National Socialism during the Second World War, for the outstretched hand of reconciliation.

Kuleba thanked Maas for supporting Ukraine and his personal efforts to end the war that Russia unleashed against Ukraine, as well as for supporting Euro-Atlantic reforms.

“I am convinced that, in particular, thanks to these efforts, Ukraine and Germany will have not only a tragic past, but also a happy joint future in a united Europe,” he stressed.

We will remind, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmitry Kuleba believes that the visit of the US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken to Kiev will lead to a certain de-escalation of the situation at the border Ukraine with the Russian Federation, but will not be able to completely eliminate the Russian threat.
