India’s left-arm spinner Kuldeep Yadav visited the controversial Godfather Dhirendra Kumar Shastri and sought his blessings. The player visited the Bageshwar Dham temple in Madhya Pradesh’s Chhatarpur on Thursday after being named in the Indian squad for the ODI and T20I series against the West Indies starting on July 27.
A picture of Kuldeep Yadav sitting at Dhirendra Shastri’s feet with folded hands is going viral on social media.
“Kuldeep Yadav, the spin wizard of Indian cricket and a favorite of Hon’ble Sarkar (Dhirendra Kumar Shastri), visited Dham to celebrate Hon’ble Sarkar’s birthday and took the blessings of Hon’ble Sarkar,” Bageshwar Dham said in a post shared on Sarkar’s Twitter account.

Kuldeep Yadav last played for India in the one-day series against Australia at home in March before the start of IPL 2023. Despite picking up just four wickets in three ODIs, the player has been in good form on his return to the national team.
Meanwhile, Kuldeep is set to reunite with his long-time spin partner Yuzvendra Chahal on the West Indies tour.
