Kudus (ANTARA) – The Health Office (Dinkes) of Kudus Regency, Central Java, invites the public to prevent the spread of dengue fever (DHF) by carrying out a joint movement to eradicate mosquito nests (PSN).
“Actually, the PSN movement is most effective together. For this reason, the Kudus Regency Government has issued a circular to all parties, including offices and the public, to carry out the PSN movement,” said Head of the Kudus District Health Office Andini Aridewi in Kudus, Monday.
For people who still have bathtubs or water reservoirs, he asked that they be drained periodically and close the water reservoirs, and bury used items that have the potential to collect rainwater so they don’t become breeding grounds for mosquito larvae that might carry the DHF virus.

Hot conditions followed by rain like today, he added, made mosquito larvae reproduce faster, so we had to be vigilant.
In addition to the PSN movement, the community is also asked to maintain the cleanliness of the surrounding environment in order to prevent the breeding of mosquito larvae that cause DHF.
He acknowledged that the findings of dengue cases in 2022 were indeed high, reaching 551 cases, compared to the previous year only 175 cases.
While those who died during 2022 were recorded as many as eight cases or higher than in 2021 three cases died.
It is now easier for people to check whether they have dengue fever or not, because they can go to the nearest health center or hospital to check using dengue virus antigen or the NS1 test to detect the non-structural NS1 protein of the dengue virus.
In addition to keeping the environment clean, parents must increase nutritional intake, especially for children by adding protein through giving milk, eggs, or foods that contain fat for endurance.
