The 13th stage of the series “Queen of Russian Sports” – “Memorial of Georgy Necheukhin” was held in Chelyabinsk.
It was attended by over 400 athletes from 30 regions of Russia, as well as from Belarus. Kuban was represented by six athletes at the tournament. As a result of the competition, they all became prize-winners. Kuban won four “gold”, one “silver” and one “bronze”.
– More than 105.5 thousand people go in for athletics in the Kuban. In sports of high achievements – more than 13.7 thousand athletes on the basis of 68 departments in all municipalities of the region. Thanks to a competent coaching staff, Kuban athletes regularly demonstrate positive results at competitions of all levels, – said Deputy Governor Alexander Vlasov.
In the 2000m hurdles, Konstantin Plokhotnikov won with a big advantage. Less than a second was not enough for him to update the All-Russian record at this distance. Another athlete Saveliy Savlukov also came first to the finish line at a distance of 400 m. Oleg Braiko took gold in the triple jump. In the javelin throw, Kuban athletes Boris Bezdolny and Valeria Putilina brought first and second places. “Bronze” on the account of the pole vaulter Ilya Prosvirin, the press service of the regional administration reports.
