That’s what the jumping star says on it Instagram. Kubacki writes that his wife Marta ended up in hospital because of her heart.
“She is in a bad condition and doctors are fighting to save her life. She is in good hands, she is a strong girl. I know she will fight,” writes Kubacki.
“Of course this is the end of the season for me, but that’s not important now,” he writes.
Left Vikersund
Just ahead of Sunday’s Raw Air qualification in Vikersund, the news came that the Pole had left the ski flying slope in a hurry.
In purely sporting terms, it meant that Halvor Egner Granerud was named overall winner of the World Cup already ahead of Sunday’s race. Kubacki was the only one who could pass the Norwegian in the summary.
– I didn’t understand much. I heard about it a quarter of an hour before qualifying was due to start. You get worried when you hear that people are withdrawing. I don’t have any information, but I do hope that the reason why he is not here today will be resolved in the best possible way, Granerud told NTB on Sunday.
– I think this is just as dramatic as you. I hope things will work out, he added.
Showed support
Just after Kubacki’s update on Instagram on Monday, Granerud showed his compassion and commented with a get-well message.
There are still races in Lahti in Finland and Planica in Slovenia before this year’s international showjumping season is over.
Dawid Kubacki is one of show jumping’s biggest profiles. He became world champion in the normal slope in Seefeld in 2019. In addition, he has a WC gold in the team competition.
In the context of the Olympics, he has two bronze medals, while in the 2019/20 season there was a strong victory in the German-Austrian vault.
