Thiruvananthapuram – The vigilance department’s intensified checks at the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) have led to the detection of numerous crimes. In a recent development, a Swift bus conductor has been dismissed for ticketing irregularities.

Between June 1 and June 20, the vigilance department conducted inspections on a staggering 27,813 buses across various parts of the state. During these inspections, a total of 131 ticket-related irregularities were uncovered. One such incident occurred during a special inspection in Thiruvananthapuram on June 13, where conductor S. Biju was found guilty of irregularities in issuing tickets for the Kaniyapuram-Eastbound Swift bus. As a consequence, Biju has been dismissed from his position, and a police complaint has been filed against him.

In addition to Biju’s dismissal, conductor P.R. Jonkutty from the Alappuzha unit and conductor K. Mohanan from the Adoor unit have been suspended for their involvement in ticketing irregularities. Furthermore, the vigilance department’s investigation report has led to the suspension of 10 more employees during the same period.
