Jakarta, CNN Indonesia –
Presidential Staff Office Expert (KSP) Ade Irfan Pulungan said state finances impossible if it should be free vaccine corona virus (SARS-CoV-2) throughout society. Therefore, according to Ade, the scheme paid vaccine applied.
Ade even said that the scenario for giving the Covid-19 vaccine is similar to a subsidy scheme, one of which is fuel oil (BBM).
“This means that people who have financial capacity should pay it. Just like other subsidies, fuel and gas subsidies, if you are able to pay it. Those who can afford it must also be free, shame,” said Ade when contacted. CNNIndonesia.com, Tuesday (15/12).
According to Ade, the government still allocates free vaccines. It’s just that this free vaccine is distributed to people in need, such as health workers.
He also asked the public not to be trapped by this paid vaccine scheme. By bringing vaccines to Indonesia, according to Ade, it means that the government has fulfilled the citizens’ vaccine needs in order to reduce the spread of the corona virus.
“The government fulfilled its obligation by bringing in vaccines, that’s already done [dijalankan]. Now the vaccine is available, it must be prioritized to those who really need it, “he said again.
Even so, Ade did not explain the categorization of people classified as capable or incapable as candidates for free vaccine recipients. According to him, this category will be further formulated with the relevant ministries and institutions.
“We leave it to those concerned. What are the criteria that must be paid, which should not be paid. For example, health workers, because of his assignment, we have an obligation to protect him,” explained Ade.
“Because of its duty to save the people, that is what vaccines are given [gratis]. Despite her category [tenaga kesehatan] looks capable. If a businessman owns a Mercy three car, they ask for a subsidy, that’s ashamed, “he added.
However, Ade ensures that even if it is paid, the vaccine costs will be affordable later. He assured that the Covid-19 vaccine will be distributed and accepted by all people who deserve the vaccine.
On the other hand, Ade emphasized that currently the state’s financial condition has limitations in providing free vaccines to all Indonesian people. Moreover, he continued, now Indonesia is still building a number of infrastructures.
“Because it is impossible for all state finances to be allocated for that. We do not need to argue about that, we are still doing development,” he explained.

Previously, the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto emphasized that the Covid-19 vaccination would be divided into two distribution schemes, the first was giving free vaccines to target recipients of various groups, especially health workers.
Meanwhile, other groups who are not priority vaccine recipients will be asked to carry out independent vaccinations, aka paid.
This scheme has received resistance from various circles. A number of groups have urged the government to eliminate vaccines for all citizens, given that the main prevention efforts for the pandemic in Indonesia are still weak.
