The second division soccer teams Karlsruher SC and SV Sandhausen will be using 2G for their stadium visitors in the future. In Sandhausen this rule applies from mid-November, at KSC already for the upcoming home game on October 31 against SC Paderborn. The seventh of the table announced a corresponding decision by the association’s bodies on Tuesday. “This is the only way to return to maximum utilization and thus to take the next step towards normality,” said KSC managing director Michael Becker on Tuesday.
From the game against SC Paderborn on October 31, only people who have been vaccinated against the coronavirus or who can be proven to have recovered from an infection will be allowed into the stadium in the wildlife park. A negative test is then no longer sufficient. Up to 12,500 spectators have been admitted with 3G so far, against the East Westphalia up to 20,000 fans are allowed to enter the arena, which is currently being rebuilt. The state’s new Corona regulation enables full utilization at the lowest warning level if the 2-G rule is applied.
At SV Sandhausen, 2G applies from the next but one home game on November 19 against 1. FC Nürnberg. Against Werder Bremen this Sunday (1.30 p.m. / Sky), people with negative tests are also allowed to enter the stadium at Hardtwald, as the club announced.
Among the Baden-Württemberg first and second division clubs, Bundesliga club VfB Stuttgart announced that they would bet on 2G in the upcoming home game on Sunday against Union Berlin (5.30 p.m. / Sky). SC Freiburg will also probably switch to this model in the home game on October 30th against SpVgg Greuther Fürth. TSG Hoffenheim and 1. FC Heidenheim are currently relying on the 3-G model, according to which viewers who have tested negative can also enter.
