“Kryvbas” in the home arena was defeated by “Polissya” in the match of the 28th round of the Ukrainian Premier League (UPL) – 0:1.
The match in Kryvyi Rih started on Sunday, May 12. In the 25th minute, the Zhytomyr club was put ahead by Vyacheslav Tankovskii. At the 37th minute, the match was interrupted due to an air alarm. It dragged on, so it was decided to finish the meeting on Monday, May 13.
The play-off was supposed to start at 1:00 p.m., but was delayed due to an air raid. After the kick-off, the teams still went on the field, but no goals were scored. Moreover, in the second half, the match was suspended again due to the missile threat throughout Ukraine.

After this match, “Kryvbas” (54 points) prematurely secured the third place in the UPL. Yury Vernydub’s team won the “bronze” and will play in the European Cups next season.
If “Shakhtar” defeats “Vorskla” in the final of the Cup of Ukraine, then the Kryvyi Rih team will start the European season with the third round of Europa League qualification. If Poltava wins the trophy, they will enter the Europa League, while “Kryvbas” will play in the 2nd round of the Conference League.
In addition, the failure of the Kryvyi Rih club in the match against “Polyssy” prematurely guaranteed Kyiv “Dynamo” silver UPL awards. Oleksandr Shovkovskyi’s team qualified for the next draw of the Champions League, where they will start from the second qualifying round.
But for “Polyssia” the struggle for European cups continues. With two rounds until the end of the season, the Zhytomyr team is in sixth place in the Ukrainian championship with 46 points, inferior to “Rukh” according to additional indicators and two points behind “Dnipro-1”.
In the next round, “Kryvbas” will play away against “Dynamo” on May 19, and “Polyssia” will meet “Metalist 1925” on the same day.
