The body of a 24-year-old woman was pulled out of Lake Gopło by the services. A witness noticed the woman’s floating body. The police, under the supervision of the prosecutor’s office, are investigating the circumstances of the death.
On Monday (September 2) shortly after 11 a.m., rescuers from the Vistula Water Volunteer Search and Rescue received information from a witness that there might be a body in Lake Gopło. The watermen immediately went to the place indicated by the man. He was not mistaken. After reaching the lake, the watermen confirmed his suspicions.

“At 11.07 a.m. a man reported to the Nadgoplańskiego WOPR station that while on the footbridge under the bridge on the northern side, near the reed bed, he saw ‘something strange in the water’. A team of two water rescuers was immediately dispatched. After reaching the site, it was confirmed that it was the body of a woman around 20-30 years old,” we read in a statement from the Nadwiślańskie Water Volunteer Search and Rescue Service.

Prosecutor’s investigation
The woman’s death is being investigated by the police and prosecutor’s office. The officers have identified her. She is a 24-year-old resident of Mogilno County.

An investigation is underway in this case under the supervision of the prosecutor’s office – informed Staff Sergeant Izabella Drobniecka from the County Police Headquarters in Inowrocław.
