Kroos reacts emotionally to Nadal’s hammer

Toni Kroos also speaks out about the end of tennis superstar Rafael Nadal’s career. Last but not least, Real Madrid should continue to connect the two sports icons.

Rafael Nadal electrified the tennis world with his game – and did the same when he announced his retirement on Thursday.

Toni Kroos is also not left indifferent by the departure of the 22-time Grand Slam winner: The former German national soccer player, who only ended his outstanding sporting career as a club icon at Real Madrid in the summer, has now responded to the situation in emotional words Nadal’s decision reacts.

“Without you and Roger (Ex-tennis superstar and long-time Nadal arch-rival Roger Federer, editor’s note) “It will never be the same again,” Kroos wrote on Instagram. And added in his post with a photo that shows Nadal reverently on the court at the clay court tournament in Madrid: “Thank you for always being a role model on and off the court. Congratulations for all of this.”

It didn’t take long for Nadal to respond: “Thank you, Toni!” wrote the Mallorcan (COMMENT: Nadal’s true legacy).

Nadal and Kroos: Also linked by Real Madrid

Nadal and Kroos have valued each other for years – not least because of Real Madrid, of which the exceptional Spanish tennis professional is an honorary member. Nadal is said to have even worked behind the scenes on the transfer of Marco Asensio at Royal.

There had also been speculation for a long time as to whether the 38-year-old would also play a tennis match against his long-time rival Federer in the then converted Estadio Santiago Bernabéu.

Federer also immediately spoke out about Nadal’s resignation, as did Kroos, who repeatedly attended live tennis matches of what many consider to be the greatest Spanish athlete of all time.

“What a career, Rafa! I always hoped that these days would never come. Thank you for the unforgettable moments and all your incredible achievements in the game we love. It was a great honor for me,” said the Swiss.
