Kroll is also recognized as the best young league player in the final round

“Valmiera” striker Raimonds Krollis has been recognized as the best young player in the fourth round of the “Optibet” Latvian Football Super League, the organizers of the competition report.

This time the Latvian Football Federation (LFF) Coaches Council nominated five candidates for the title of the best new player of the fourth round: Ilya Korotkov (“Metta”), Krolli (“Valmiera”), Valery Lizunov (“Daugavpils”), Emil Birka (“Metta”) and Artūrs Ļotčikovs (Jūrmala “Spartaks”).

Kroll was convincingly voted the best young player in the fourth round by journalists and coaches. The 19-year-old striker scored 12 goals and made 9 assists last season.

Kroll got 86 points in the vote, Lizunov scored 33 points, Birka 28, Korotkov 23 and Lotičikov 16. Kroll was also recognized as the best in the first three rounds.

Since the 2015 season, the best new player in each round has been identified and welcomed in the Premier League championship. Candidates are nominated by the LFF Coaches Council, while the media and club head coaches take part in the vote. The most important criterion for receiving this prize is the age limit, ie the player must meet the U-21 age category.
