Henrik Kristoffersen has had a very good start to the giant slalom in Schladming.
The 28-year-old, with starting number three, clocked in at 1:10.11. It holds a provisional third place. In front of him is the Swiss Gino Caviezel in second place and Loic Meillard in first. Kristoffersen thus has very good opportunities to take his third World Cup victory this season.
Both Aleksander Aamodt Kilde and Alte Lie McGrath drove well and placed eighth and ninth respectively.
Lucas Braathen did not live up to expectations and is in 13th place after the first lap.
