Comedian Kristian Valen (47) must appear in court after the police found an illegal weapon in his home. The police now demand the confiscation of at least 34 weapons and refer to section 70 of the Penal Code that there is an “imminent danger that it will be the subject of or used in a criminal act”.

– Realize I need help
According to the indictment, which Dagbladet has been given access to, in 2020 Valen had a registration-required weapon of the type AR-15 semi-automatic rifle caliber 223 Remington without permission from the chief of police.
– The weapon is not registered as deactivated in the National Weapons Register and is not deactivated in accordance with the regulations, the indictment states.

John Christian Elden at Elden Advokatfirma tells Dagbladet that Valen denies criminal guilt.
Valen denies criminal guilt after the indictment, and thinks it is strange that the police constantly pick up and return the same items. But he is happy to appear in court to answer for the accusation. All the so-called weapons are included in music videos he has made and which are online.
– I can confirm this. The background for this will be further elucidated during the main hearing, says defender Ida Andenæs to Dagbladet.
Want two weddings
Valen is also accused of having illegally stored drugs. There are several hundred prescription tablets. To VG, Valen claims that the medication is prescribed by a doctor.
The case will be heard in Oslo District Court on 16 and 17 August.
Valen himself has mentioned the case on Facebook. In the post, he writes the following:

He writes, among other things, that he has no functional weapons, and that the medicine he has taken and has been prescribed by a doctor is now presented as something else in the media.
“It is of course an enormous burden that this comes up like this. But I choose to look at it so that it now finally becomes a solution to this case I have been working on for over two years ».
Convicted of threats
However, this is not the first time the comedian has gotten into trouble with the police.
In the autumn of 2016, armed police moved out to Aker Brygge in Oslo this morning after a report that a man had been observed with a gun.
Peace to the girlfriend from the stage
The man was arrested and taken into custody for illegal arming in a public place and disorderly conduct.
Lawyer John Christian Elden was later able to confirm that the man who was arrested was Valen.
