Kristen Stewart, mainly known for the Twilightfranchise, let it be known that it is not always easy to be fully in the spotlights. This was especially noticeable to the actress when she first appeared in public with a woman by her side.
Stewart then felt the pressure to have to talk about her sexuality. In a recent interview, the actress says she felt rushed: ”When I first started dating a girl I was immediately asked if I was a lesbian. I was only 21 years old”.
Private life
The actress says that her star status does not help to keep certain things secret: ”I always try to keep my private life to myself as much as possible. I definitely don’t because I was ashamed of being with a woman, but I don’t want to give so much of myself to the public. When I do that, I want to do it at my own pace, not because everyone wants an answer right away”.
“It also affected me. I was quite suspicious for a while. Also in my previous relationships, I did everything I could to avoid being photographed while we were doing things together as they would no longer be ‘ours’ alone“.

Stewart doesn’t care much now, though: ”I was hounded to label myself. I really felt that pressure to do that. This started to take its toll. It was difficult and strange. But now I show my love in public too. I just want to make the most of it. If I can easily do something that might help someone who is in trouble with themselves, that’s great!she says about representation of the LGBTI community.
