Maria Tsima’s short story is transferred to the stage of Theater 104 (Eumolpidon 41, Gazi) adapted and directed by the theater group PROZAc from May 15 and for 12 performances.
Through Kristella’s narrative unfolds a story of coming of age in a place more foreign than others see you as foreign. Kristella grows up in Athens. In Pagrati. Her mother is absent most of the time. She takes care of an elderly person. She takes care of her daughter. She doesn’t want to miss anything. Alone. Like when they left Albania for a better future. Cristella grows up, studies, has fun, falls in love, lives. She’s not alone anymore. Alone you become nobody.
Director’s note
How does time sleep? Maybe with a lullaby. Maybe with the sound of the sea. Maybe it floats like a black bag in the water. Maybe it washes up on land full of bottles with words like root, migration, memory, loss, margin, love, stereotypes, toil, loneliness, suffocation, gender violence, femicide. Maybe he never sleeps. Cristella enters the room. She leans her back against the wall, unties her ponytail. If there was, he would never open this chamber.
