A chic estate with swimming pool, luxury rooms and an incredible view: Kristel reveals the location of their wedding on Instagram. ‘Johannesdal 1207’ in Stellenbosch is, according to the owners, a ‘hidden gem’, and wedding guests clearly spare no expense for the perfect party.
Today, the vineyard-covered hills in Stellenbosch are the fairytale backdrop for Regi and Kristel’s wedding party. On her Instagram page, the bride already posted a number of snapshots from the ‘sunset party’ on Monday, a private party for close family and friends, the witnesses and the bridesmaids. There you can catch a glimpse of the beautiful domain.

The estate was built in 1898 in the village of Pniel, which is part of the famous Stellenbosch. Nowadays it serves as a multifunctional party location with all the trimmings. Not only are there various banquet rooms and gardens, but there is also a villa with five luxurious rooms, where the bridal couple and some family members will stay. Johann Slee, the architect of the renovated estate, insisted on respecting the ‘Cape Dutch’ influences of the buildings. The view from the estate is breathtaking.

The luxurious location is particularly impressive with its gardens and terraces: there is a water lily garden, the ‘terrace under the oak’, where up to 100 guests can have aperitifs in the shade under an old massive oak tree, and the idyllic terrace in the citrus garden. Outdoor ceremonies often take place in one of the two perfectly maintained gardens with maximum views of the surrounding mountains. On Instagram we also catch a glimpse of the ‘blue room’, the soundproof room where the dance party will continue until the early hours.

Nice detail: there is also a swimming pool at the party location. “If you fancy a splash in between, you can just dive in,” Kristel told us. The location has a ‘pool yard’ for parties that take place in the warmer season. “February is high summer in South Africa. We aim for a friendly atmosphere, in a colorful setting.”
