Basketball player Kristaps Porzingis
Latvian basketball player Kristaps Porzingis has extended his contract with the Boston Celtics of the National Basketball Association (NBA), the team reports.
Already at the end of June, TNT and “Bleacher Report” journalist Krists Haynes reported that both parties agreed on the extension of the contract. “Celtics” does not disclose the details of the contract, but it was previously reported that the contract will be extended for two more seasons until 2026 for approximately 60 million US dollars.
Porzingis has one year left on his current contract with a player option for $36 million.
It has already been announced that in June, Porzingis joined the “Celtics” in a three-team trade and will play for the team, which is one of the contenders for the title.
Last season, Porzingis averaged a season-high 23.2 points, 8.4 rebounds and 1.5 blocks in 65 games. Before the Washington Wizards, the Latvian also represented the Dallas Mavericks and the New York Knicks.
