Kris Wu is dropped by brands after allegations of abuse – VG

Rapper, actor and model Kris Wu loses contracts with actors such as Louis Vuitton, Bulgari and Porsche after he was accused of enticing young girls to have sex.

Wu has denied the allegations and has said he will sue for defamation.

The tabloid Chinese newspaper Global Times writes that Wu is said to have tried to pay Meizhu around 700,000 kroner for not going out with his story.

Chinese-Canadian Wu first became known as a member of K-pop-banded Exo, but went to China in 2014 to try his hand as a solo artist, model and actor.

He has starred in several Chinese films and also in a few Hollywood films, such as «xXx: Return of Xander Cage».

According to the Hollywood Reporter, he is one of China’s most lucrative stars and has become a face for brands such as Louis Vuitton, Bulgari, Porsche, Lancôme, L’Oréal, and Tuborg.

On Monday, Wu commented on the allegations on Chinese social media Weibo:

“I have not responded before because I do not want to influence the legal process … but I can not stand it any longer.”

Wu claims that he met Du Meizhu once at a party with a friend, but rejected her other claims.

“If I’ve done any of these things, I’m going to put myself in jail.” he writes.

On Monday night, Louis Vuitton issued a statement to Weibo stating that they take the allegations very seriously and that they have suspended the relationship with Kris Wu until the legal outcome is known.

Bulgari and Porsche also cut ties with Wu.
