KrF Deputy Leader Race: Battle between Political Talents with Different Values

The selection committee has selected Ida Lindtveit Røse (30). She is from Oppegård in Viken, and a former KrFU leader.

Røse is highlighted as a political talent and she was the country’s youngest cabinet minister when she acted as minister for children and families in 2020.

But just a few days before the national meeting, Jorunn Gleditsch Lossius (43) from Agder announced that she is taking up the fight for the position of deputy leader.

The two candidates have different values ​​in several areas.

During the debate, there are several who advocate that the national meeting should follow the election committee’s recommendation.

While Røse is considered liberal, Lossius is referred to as more conservative. Especially on the issue of abortion, it is highlighted that the two have different opinions.

Røse will maintain the current abortion law, and says yes to abortion up to week 12. Lossius is equally clear that she believes the current law should be tightened.

– I am very clear that abortion will always be about two people, and that children in the womb have independent human dignity and deserve stronger legal protection, says Jorunn Gleditsch Lossius.
