Kresna Life Leaves Customers Worried About Unpaid Claims: Jakarta Case Study

Jakarta

The failure to pay PT Asuransi Jiwa Kresna (AJK) or Kresna Life leaves customers feeling sad. Until now the fate of their money is still unclear.

Sundari, an 82-year-old woman, said she was confused about finding funds for her child’s treatment. Her son has now had a major stroke.

“I need money for my child’s surgery, my child is very sick. He is old, the child has a stroke, it’s not light anymore, it’s already severe,” he told detikcom at the OJK Office in the Wisma Mulia 2 Building, Jakarta, Tuesday (6/6/2023).

Sundari has a policy of around IDR 1 billion at Kresna Life. He only demanded that his rights be returned.

“I really need money, I’m old. Need to be paid, nothing else, that’s all. Don’t beat around the bush,” he said.

A similar fate was experienced by a Kresna Life customer named Suhatno, who has a policy of around Rp. 500 million. He said he had poured out his severance pay during his 13 years of service.

“That’s my severance pay after 13 years of work there (Kresna Life). I hope our funds will return to the maximum, around Rp. 500 million,” he added.

He was laid off from his job in 2019 and started joining Kresna Life that year. Suhatno demanded that the Financial Services Authority (OJK) resolve this case.

The demands are requesting an extension of time for Kresna Life in seeking Sub Ordinated Loan (SOL) approval from its customers, requesting that the PKU (restrictions on business activities) be lifted, and requesting that the company not have its business license or CIU revoked.

Customers think that their destiny is now in the hands of OJK, not in Kresna life. “I hope he will pay, the OJK (PKU) will be opened, don’t close it. The fate of all of us is here (OJK) not in Kresna,” concluded Sundari
