According to the publishers “Delfi”, the chamber orchestra conducted by Andris Veisansis, conductor of Kremerata Baltica, as well as the mezzo-soprano participate in the recording. Ieva Parša and organist Aigars Reinis.

The publishers point out that the opuses recorded in the album “Kremerata Baltica. Marģeris Zariņš” – “Partita in the Baroque style”, “Carmina antica”, concerts for the organ “Concerto innocente” and “Concerto triptichon”, as well as “Four Japanese Miniatures” by Kristaps Petersons are some of the composer’s most outstanding works. It is in these opuses that Marģers Zariņš’s unique writing style is revealed, about which the composer himself has said: “The use of many styles is also my style.”

“Marģeris Zariņš was one of the most colorful, multifaceted and unequivocally interesting personalities in the life of Latvian music. A real Renaissance man who felt equally good in music and literature. Zariņš is also extremely creative in instrumentation – chamber orchestra, various wind instruments, percussion, organ, guitar. Baroque style “and organ concerts are already heavy in the legendary recordings of the eighties. Modern recording technologies allow these pearls of Latvian music to shine again,” explains Egīls Šēfers, head of “SKANi” and director of LMIC.

The first collaboration between SKANi and the internationally acclaimed Kremerata Baltica chamber orchestra is also special. The orchestra, founded almost 25 years ago by the well-known, great violinist Gidon Kremer, unites musicians from the Baltic States. Kremerata Baltica is the winner of Grammy, ECHO and other prestigious awards.

Mecosporan Ieva Parša is one of Latvia’s most notable chamber singers, whose music has been written by many Latvian composers. The singer’s attention is focused on contemporary and Latvian composers’ music, but the repertoire of Baroque and Romantic times is also gladly performed. The singer has received the Latvian Music Prize (2008) for the premiere of solo songs and especially experimental vocal lyrics by Latvian composers. Ieva Parša has been nominated for the “Grand Music Prize” (2008, 2009).

Aigars Reinis is the music director of the Riga Dome Cathedral and the organist of the cathedral. Reinis has been an artist and soloist of the Latvian Radio Choir for many years, singer of the vocal ensembles “Schola Cantorum Riga” and “Ars Antiqua Riga”. He studied at the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music in the organ class of Professor Tālivalds Dekšnis, obtaining a master’s degree. Aigars Reinis received the “Great Music Award” (2019) for outstanding work in the ensemble.

The album “Kremerata Baltica. Marģeris Zariņš” will be available on November 19, as well as on the most popular music download and streaming platforms.
