Probably the biggest debates concern Ladislav Krejčí the younger, currently captain of Letenské. The 23-year-old midfielder has been suffering from back problems since the end of last season, embarking on two duels with high expectations in early October but has since recovered.
“He’s going well, we’re combining training on the pitch and in the gym. I’m happy that he and the team have completed joint training sessions over the last couple of days. I’m glad he has a positive attitude towards the whole thing,” Priske outlined the current situation.
Another longtime raider is experienced stopper Ondřej Čelůstka. He played his last competitive game in February, he underwent Achilles tendon surgery in the summer. Even then, the coaches were clear they couldn’t count on him until Christmas.
“He is on his way to participate in a real football training. He is preparing for the coaching of AlterG, he is in the gym a lot. He starts running slowly outside under the supervision of the fitness team. We hope he will slowly join the training at the training camp in Marbella. But we are careful and patient so as not to worsen his condition. We will approach it preventively,” Priske stressed.
Full-back Jakub Pešek also underwent surgery, this time on the cruciate ligament in his knee. “We see progress, he starts racing under certain conditions,” said the Spartan coach.
Letenští are currently preparing in Prague, on Sunday they will fly to Marbella, Spain for more than a week, where they will play friendlies with Stuttgart and Salzburg. Before the start of the Fortuna League spring season, the third-placed team still has a home game against Nuremberg.
