Essen A woman from Gelsenkirchen disappears without a trace. Your body will never be found. Now the judges have convicted the ex-boyfriend of the woman for murder. It is not the man’s first stay in prison.
In the Essen “murder trial without a corpse” a man from Krefeld was sentenced to life imprisonment on Tuesday. The judges are convinced that the defendant murdered his ex-girlfriend in June 2019.

Pictures and videos that were found on him show the deceased 35-year-old tied up on the floor of his apartment – with a plastic bag over her head. The body of the woman from Gelsenkirchen has not yet been found.

The 47-year-old German did not comment on the allegations in court. In addition to the life imprisonment, the judges also determined the particular gravity of the guilt and ordered the subsequent preventive detention.

The defendant was sentenced to eleven years in prison in 1999 for stabbing an ex-girlfriend to death. In the current trial, his defense lawyers have requested an acquittal.
