The round leather egg was almost exclusively in the hands of the Ravens against Münster.

The Krefeld Ravens celebrated a perfect start to the new season with a 48:12 win against the Münster Mammuts that was never in jeopardy. The team of head coach Jörg “Bolle” Hintzen didn’t show any weaknesses and created clear conditions in the first quarter with three touchdowns by the two import players Darion Neal and JR Leach (2) – each via pass – and a 20-0 lead. In general, this time, unlike in the test in Bürstadt weeks ago, it was above all the pass that provided the decisive moments. The excellent quarterback Jan Leuker, who made a total of 13 of 22 attempts and recorded a strong 312 yards, served the ball into the end zone six times.

But with all the flair of the offensive, once again it was above all the outstanding defense of the ravens that dominated the game. In the home team’s only faulty defensive game, the best guest player, receiver Janik Laumann, carried the ball over a total of 60 yards for a touchdown.

Overall, the Ravens could not be beaten in front of the great backdrop of around 1000 spectators. The three active import players from Krefeld – Neal, Leach and Ramon Franco – all knew how to convince and were among the best alongside the equally excellent ball carrier Noah Kölling (115 yards in six attempts), the aforementioned Leuker and the strong linebacker Jürgen Bujor Ravens side. Franco had four quarterback sacks, tripping the opposing playmaker before the pass.

As the top favorite for promotion to the 3rd division, it was the perfect start to the season for the Krefeld team. It is certainly true that the guest lined up with only 29 players and was therefore inferior to the home side, who had an optimal strength of 50 players, especially in terms of change options.

The fact that the young Leuker served the ball (to Leach) into the end zone in a very first ball contact for Krefeld in a competitive game was the perfect start to a season in every respect, from which the coaches expect that some opponents will actually see the team for the first time will ever be pushed to its limits. But Ravens are well prepared for this.
