To accompany the new production, the Komische Oper is planning a discussion on June 13th about the title of the work, which premiered in 1885. The chairman of the Central Council of German Sinti and Roma, Romani Rose, the jazz musician and human rights activist Dotschy Reinhardt and director Kratzer have been invited.

Further performances of the operetta are to take place on June 26th and 28th and July 1st. Because of the regulations of the Infection Protection Act that apply until the end of June, the house will otherwise remain closed for the rest of the season.

The new season is to open on August 29th with the premiere of “Œdipe”. The Komische Oper plans to publish the full schedule for 2021/22 on June 22nd.
