Krassimir Gergov’s brother died after complications from COVID-19 – ᐉ News from Fakti.bg – Curious

Advertising boss Krassimir Gergov suffered a heavy loss. His brother Todor Gergov died unexpectedly after complications from COVID-19. The doctors’ efforts to save Todor, who was of active age and was working at full speed, helping the businessman, were in vain. The brother had been Krassimir Gergov’s right hand man for years.

The Gergovi family did not officially announce the news because everyone is shocked, especially Todor’s children. The man became infected in late April. Initially, he underestimated the symptoms and started treatment only when he had a very high temperature, which turned out to be a fatal mistake. The doctors proved powerless and after a few days in hospital, Todor Gergov died. Krassimir Gergov has been considered for years one of the most influential figures in advertising and media business in Bulgaria. Since its inception, BTV has been its unofficial owner and currently holds a 6% minority stake.

Born in 1961 in Sofia, he is the grandson of Marin Tuevski, the first communist mayor of Pravets. Gergov’s uncle is the well-known general from the garages of UBO – Boncho Bonchev. Krassimir graduated from the Georgi Dimitrov Higher Institute of Physical Education with a degree in Tourism, Mountaineering and Orienteering and specializes in the American media company CNN in Atlanta. In 1994, Gergov acquired the right to broadcast CNN for Bulgaria. He is also the founder of the first private national radio in Bulgaria.

He also works in the field of tourism and invests in golf complexes in Bulgaria. The businessman has been severely criticized by environmentalists for his constructions falling into protected areas, destroying the habitats of rare plant and animal species and contributing to the redevelopment of the Bulgarian Black Sea coast, Weekend wrote.
