KPU’s weaknesses are further exposed through Second Prima Party’s legal victory.

The Prima Party, which claims it has been unfairly denied the opportunity to field candidates for the 2024 general election, has won its second legal victory. The Election Oversight Agency (Bawaslu) ruled that the party had fulfilled the necessary requirements to participate in the election and criticized the General Elections Commission (KPU) for its administrative shortcomings. Politicians and activists believe the ruling highlights a lack of transparency and fairness in Indonesia’s election process. The Prima Party’s legal battles may also impact other parties seeking to participate in future elections.
