On Tuesday evening, KPN implemented a solution in its network, so that users with a device from the Galaxy S20 line can again use 4G. Users of those devices complained on the forums of Samsung in Tweakers, reports GalaxyClub.
The problems arose for many users after installing an update that became available Monday, October 19, with version number G98 ** XXU5BTJ1. The issues affected all of the different S20 variants: the S20, S20 +, Ultra and FE.
After the update, the 4G connection of Galaxy S20 users with a KPN subscription no longer worked. The same was true for users with a provider on the KPN network: SimYo, Budget Mobiel, YouFone and Lebara. S20 users with Vodafone or T-Mobile had no connection problems after the update. The problems only affected 4G at KPN; 3G and 5G were still available and users could still make and receive calls.
