KPK searched the official residence of the Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Syahrul Yasin Limpo in the South Jakarta area last night. Yasin Limpo was apparently on duty in Rome, Italy, when his official residence was searched by the KPK.
“The Minister of Agriculture is in Rome,” said the General Treasurer of the NasDem Party, Ahmad Sahroni, when contacted, Friday (29/9/2023).
Sahroni said Yasin Limpo was in Rome attending a forum on food. There is no further information regarding Yasin Limpo’s return to Indonesia.
Meanwhile, Yasin Limpo uploaded his activities in Rome on his official Instagram account. In a photo caption uploaded two days ago, Yasin Limpo said he had a bilateral meeting with the Director General of FAO, Qu Dongyu.
“I held a bilateral meeting with the Director General of FAO, Qu Dongyu, on the sidelines of a conference in Rome, Italy. We agreed to strengthen cooperation on the South-South and Triangular Project (KSST),” wrote Yasin Limpo.
He explained that the agreement was a form of cooperation between developing countries, especially in Asia, Africa and the Pacific. SSTC, he continued, was the result of last year’s G20 Presidency agricultural working group meeting.
“This is cooperation between developing countries, especially southern countries in Asia, Africa and the Pacific, to share experiences and find solutions to agricultural development challenges. SSTC is the result of the Indonesian Presidency’s G20 agricultural working group meeting last year,” wrote Yasin Limpo.
He is optimistic that the SSTC project can provide major benefits in achieving food security in the Asia-Pacific region. Yasin Limpo said he would continue to coordinate with FAO representatives in Indonesia to identify potential cooperation with various countries.
“I also express my appreciation for FAO’s concrete support for more than 40 years in dealing with the threat of weather anomalies, food crises, land degradation and loss of biodiversity, as well as handling animal disease outbreaks,” wrote Yasin Limpo.
