KPK Questions PKB Chairman Cak Imin as Witness in Alleged Corruption Case at Ministry of Manpower

KPK has questioned PKB Chairman Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin as a witness in the alleged corruption case of the TKI protection system at the Ministry of Manpower and Transmigration (Kemnakertrans) in 2012. Cak Imin was questioned regarding his approval of the project.

“Muhaimin Iskandar, former Minister of the Ministry of Manpower and Transmigration, the witness was present and his knowledge was deepened, among other things, related to the beginning of the policy of the witness as a budget user approving a project to procure a TKI protection system at the Indonesian Ministry of Manpower,” said Head of KPK News Division Ali Fikri to journalists, Friday (8/ 9/2023).

Cak Imin was questioned in his capacity as former Minister of Manpower and Transmigration when the project was carried out. Ali said that the investigative team was also questioning Cak Imin regarding the roles of the parties who had been named as suspects.

“Apart from that, it was also confirmed regarding the role of the parties named as suspects in this case in following up on the implementation of the project in question,” said Ali.

Cak Imin said he had given all the information to the KPK

Cak Imin was questioned on Thursday (7/9). He was examined for five hours. The Deputy Speaker of the DPR admitted that he had provided all the information he knew regarding corruption in the TKI protection system at the Ministry of Manpower to the Corruption Eradication Commission.

“I have helped explain everything I know, everything I have heard. So God willing, I have explained everything I remember and know,” said Cak Imin at the KPK building, South Jakarta, Thursday (7/9).

Cak Imin did not explain the details of the examination material. He said he was supportive and helpful KPK.

“Today I am helping the Corruption Eradication Commission to complete the settlement of the corruption case at the Ministry of Manpower and Transmigration in 2012. In this case there is a program to protect migrant workers abroad, the protection system for protecting migrant workers abroad,” explained Imin.

“Hopefully the KPK can quickly and thoroughly handle corruption cases. I support the completion of corruption cases,” continued Cak Imin.

According to information from detikcom sources, three people have been named as suspects. The three suspects are respectively named Secretary of the Planning and Development Agency of the Ministry of Manpower I Nyoman Darmanta, Reyna Usman, who at the time this case occurred served as Director General of Workforce Placement and Transmigration Development, and a private party named Karunia.

This alleged corruption case caused state losses of billions of rupiah. The Corruption Eradication Committee (KPK) said that the TKI protection system was not functioning due to corruption.
