KPK OTT Official in North Maluku, Nurul Ghufron Explains the Case

FAJAR.CO.ID, JAKARTA — The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has again carried out a sting operation (OTT) in the North Maluku region. The parties arrested are suspected of being involved in corruption in the job auction process.

Deputy Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Nurul Ghufron confirmed that the OTT against state officials in the North Maluku region was related to alleged corruption in auctions for positions and procurement of goods and services. The Corruption Eradication Committee (KPK) has currently arrested the official in North Maluku Province.

“It is suspected of being a criminal act of corruption in the auction of positions and projects for the procurement of goods and services,” said Ghufron as quoted by Jawapos, Monday (18/12).

The KPK leadership with an academic background is still reluctant to inform the parties involved in the silent operation. He only explained that the KPK team was still carrying out initial examinations of these parties.

“In the meantime, we are still carrying out examinations of the parties we have detained and their evidence,” said Ghufron.

The Corruption Eradication Commission has 1 x 24 hours to determine the legal status of the parties caught in the OTT. The anti-corruption agency will officially announce the parties involved in the OTT.

“Later we will update the progress,” concluded Ghufron. (dawn)
